According to Jason Ward from makingstarwars.net, the next era of Star Wars films might take place during the high republic, which is roughly 400 years before the Skywalker saga. There will be new characters, possibly a young master Yoda, and sith leader Darth Bane.
What is the high republic?
The high republic is the galactic republic but 400 years before the Skywalker saga. Starwars.fandom.com has a few events that happened during this time (400 BBY) including the construction of cloud city. Click the link above to see more events of that time.
Will Yoda be in the next Star Wars?
If the next Star Wars films do take place 400 years before the Skywalker saga, that means Yoda would be around 500 years old. Yoda was already a Jedi at the age of 100 and trained thousands of Jedi for the next eight centuries leading up to ‘Return of the Jedi’. Being a legendary Jedi Master and such a popular character among fans, it’s hard to believe Yoda wouldn’t be incorporated in the new films in some way.
